I will warn you right now! If you haven't read the book, I'll probably spoil it for you! So if you're still reading it, you'll probably want to stop reading this! Did you stop yet? Just checking. :) Alright, here goes- my thoughts on ...
I have to say- I was disappointed. I'm not saying I didn't like it- but I thought it lacked the intensity of the other 3 books. I thought everything was just a little too perfect for how she had set up the entire series. Let's be honest- we KNEW Bella would get pregnant- especially after the foreshadowing in the opening about the attack with Victoria and the newborns. And we also knew Bella would be transformed as well. So I can't really fault her for that. In some aspects, I even suspected that Jacob would imprint who he did. However, after everything she's written about the Volturi being some of the most violent and unfair rulers their type have seen, you really expect me to buy into the fact that they WALKED AWAY WITHOUT A FIGHT?! That they suddenly saw reason because Alice conveniently found another half breed and they were worried they'd lose a fight because Bella was a shield and they had a few shape shifters on their side this time? NO WAY! That contradicts everything she's set up the Volturi leaders to be! And don't even get me started on Charlie being ok with "need to know basis." You're really wanting me to think that Charlie- her father who isn't a fan of Edward to begin with- is now calmly accepting of the fact that she's stunning, has a child and friends with someone he believes to be a werewolf? *sigh* Alright- enough. Obviously I've got some issues with the final book. Good thing I realize a few things- #1 its a book. #2 its a book about vampires. #3 i'm probably in the minority and that's ok! still just a book about vampires!

I couldn't agree more! I had this same conversation with Angie last night about all of that. First, the first 400 pages are of her and Edward breaking beds and feathers flying, not that I wasn't moved, but not for half the book, when Second hello.....we have vampires and warewolfs getting along like best friends. And the Volturi totally should have fought them! What is up with this book? I give it 1 star out of 5. Totally a disappointment. I am glad we are on the same page!
I couldn't agree more! Disappointment to say the least. Relieved that the series is complete and I won't be left hangn' but mostly disappointed in the fact that 3/4 of the book was a waste of paper. Far too much detail on all the stuff that I didn't want to read about. Bring on the vampire violence. I mean come on! This was one I just could not "sink my teeth into". Just walk away into the bushes?????? What the? Thanks for your thoughts. I am interested in finding out what the rest of the world thought. Are they all really satisified with all the details of the breaking beds and feathers flying and nothing else?
Guess it's a good thing missionaries don't need to read about vampires eh?lextfmro
